Terms & Conditions of Business
IMPORTANT: Please read these terms and conditions, as your contract starts from the date that you book your course online and is legally binding.
In accordance with the DSA 2000 Regulations, you do have a 7 day “cooling off” period, which states specifically that “any cancellation must be made in writing within 7 days of your booking”.
After this period, all deposits and full course payments are STRICTLY NON-REFUNDABLE AND NON TRANSFERABLE. We do, however, recognise that an attendance problem may arise, so we will allow a transfer to an alternative course provided 30 days notice is given and a nominal £15 admin fee will be charged. If students do not attend on the day without prior notice, they will lose, or be responsible for, the full course fee.
However, if your the course date you book is a late notice booking (less than 7 days notice) then the course is STRICTLY NON-REFUNDABLE
Zen Tranquility Holistic Beauty Training Studio reserves the right to cancel, reschedule or change the location of the course and, in this unlikely event, will offer you an alternative course date. However, if you are unable to attend a rescheduled course, we will offer a full refund of your deposit or course fee.
Places cannot be confirmed until a deposit is paid. All final payments must be made 14 days prior to the start date.
It is the responsibility of the student to ensure that the courses you apply for are suitable for your requirements and that you have the pre-requisite qualifications and the competence to be able to achieve the objectives of this course. All student information will be confidential, nor will it be disclosed to other parties.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Zen Tranquility Holistic Beauty Training Studio accepts no responsibility for any direct or indirect loss or damage, foreseeable or otherwise, including any indirect, consequential, special or exemplary damages arising from the use of this website, or any information contained therein.
It is your responsibility to check that your insurance will cover you for these courses. We do, however, provide you with the details of ABT Insurance, Balens Insurance and Towergate Insurance who will insure any courses run by Zen Tranquility Holistic Beauty Training Studio.
Booking a Course
Please fill in the booking form with all relevant information, this helps to prepare your certificate, and also allows the tutor to see what prior knowledge you hold. Emailing a copy of your main therapy qualification can be included with your booking form.
It is your responsibility as the student to ensure that you book the correct course for your needs - Zen Tranquility Holistic Beauty Training studio is not responsible and cannot be held accountable if you book onto a course that does not meet your needs.
A deposit is required to secure your place, your place cannot be held for you until a deposit is received.
14 days before the course is held, full payment should be completed, this saves time on the course day. The course manual will be emailed directly to you. You will not receive your manual until full payment is made.
Paying for your course
You can pay for the course by paypal (additional handling charge is added), or by BACS. Details will be emailed once booking form is received. WE DO NOT ACCEPT CASH PAYMENT ON THE TRAINING DAY.
The deposit is totally non refundable after 7 days of payment. If you cannot attend the course your deposit will not be returned to you. You may be able to transfer to the next course date if adequate notice is given. (This is for payment of the course manual that is sent to you.)
Notice of attendance
If you cannot attend the course, 10 days notice must be given, you can then be transferred to another course. Your deposit/full payment can be transferred to the next course if adequate notice is given.
Notice of 10 days+ = moving to another course date free of charge (date to be re-arranged within 6 months - non refundable deposit and course fee not refundable if not re-arranged within time frame) or refund of balance of course (less deposit)
Notice of 10 to 7 days = moving to another course date £15.00 admin fee - non refundable deposit / course fee not refundable - this also applies if you have to reschedule more than once for unforseen reasons
Notice of less than 7 to 3 days = moving to another course date £15.00 admin fee - non refundable deposit / course fee not refundable - this also applied if you have to reschedule more than once for unforseen reasons
Notice of less than 2 days = moving to another course date £15.00 admin fee - non refundable deposit / course fee not refundable - if you have already rescheduled the course once then 50% of the course payment plus £15.00 admin fee will need to be paid to be able to reschedule to again.
Cancelling on the day of the course - you will be liable for full course payment plus will incur a charge of £90.00 to reschedule to another date.
Deciding not to attend the course = non refundable deposit / course fee not refundable
Please note that if you do not attend a course without any prior notice given (i.e no show), you will still be liable for the full cost of the course that you have booked.
Course payment - In the event of a genuine reason for cancelation (proof of which may be required) a request for transfer to a later course will be considered at our discretion. Courses transferred will incur an admin fee of £15, otherwise the above charges will apply.
REFUND FOR HOME STUDY COURSES
After booking a home study course you do have a 7 day “cooling off” period, in which you can cancel the course and receive a full refund “please note that any cancellation must be made in writing within 7 days of your booking”.
After this period home study course payments are STRICTLY NON-REFUNDABLE AND NON TRANSFERABLE.
Confirmation of course date
Courses will still run if there is only one student booked on but you will need to bring a friend or family member to practise on. We will give you at least 7 to 10 days notice if the course is undersubscibed, to give you time to find a model. Tutors will try and provide models if you are finding it difficult to bring one yourself, but is not their responsibility to do so.
The student will need to supply a model to practice on. (We can sometimes arrange a model for you if you are unable to find a model). It is advisable to work on someone you know as you feel more relaxed and enjoy the course more. We do not charge extra for 1-2-1 training at the Studio. If the 1-2-1 training is mobile then we will charge extra just to cover travelling costs.
The course manual is the property of Zen Tranquiltiy Holistic Beauty Training Studio and is protected by copyright. You cannot reproduce any of the manual without express written permission from us. You will be in breach of contract by using the manual or teaching the subject from the manual.
The course manual is emailed to you prior to the course once you have paid the full course fee. If you cannot print the manual off, we can provide a copy on the day for a cost of £10.00. If you wish it to be mailed to you, you will incur postage and packaging costs of £15.00.
To practice the therapy that you have just studied by Zen Tranquility Holistic Beauty Training Studio, valid insurance is needed. Information regarding this is found in your manual.
All courses are accredited through either Complementary Medicine Association (THE CMA) and/or Associated Beauty Therapists or a different accreditation provider, and a discount is available to you if you join either of the awarding bodies insurance bodies.
It is your responsibility to check that your existing insurance company will accept the course for insurance purposes.
Zen Tranquility Holistic Beauty Training Studio teaches courses to a high standard adhering to all health and safety standards throughout.
Certificates are given out to students who have shown competence throughout the course. However we have the right to withhold certificate if the tutor deems the student to not have reached a competent standard. Case studies will be set and reassessment will be arranged. There is an additional charge for this being £40.00..
For professional standards, a certificate is awarded to show competence but it is expected that each therapist practices at least 10 times until they are condfident performing the routine before taking payment and advertising for clients.
Attending the course
You will be expected to turn up on time for the course, the tutor is generally available for up to 20 minutes prior to the course start time.
Any medical conditions should be discussed prior to the course, and noted on your booking form. You should be prepared to give and receive treatments throughout the course to complete and be deemed competent.
The courses are taught to a high standard throughout, they do not diagnose medical conditions and should not be treated as a substitute for medical care. Contra indications and benefits are discussed as part of the course but are not intended to represent medical advice, nor be deemed as a treatment to cure or prevent disease.
All Manuals have been checked and approved for accreditation through The CMA or Associated Beauty Therapists in the case of courses that we teach for other recognised training providers these have either been accredited by The CMA or or a different accreditation competent providers
Zen Tranquility Holistic Beauty training accept no liability for injury or loss to person or property throughout.
Zen Tranquility Holistic Beauty training holds no responsibility for damage caused by you to another person after you have received your training.
Complaints process if your have booked your course direct through us (Zen Tranquility Holistic Beauty Training)
In the unlikely event that you were not happy with the training you received - any complaints or grievance please contact Dawn Zen at - firstname.lastname@example.org - all complaints must be made in writing and made within 48 hours after completing the course and before the certificate has been issued and sent out. Please note that once you have been issued and have received your certificate then we are unable to process any complaint that you might have as your qualification would already have been issued.
Complaints process if your have booked your course direct through a third party
If you have booked the course through a third party (i.e. not directly through this website or Dawn at Zen Tranquility Training) then you need to make a written complaint to the person you booked the course through as your booking contract will be with that third party (i.e. another training company that delivers the courses for us), as in this instance we only supply the training company with the course manual and questionnaire to send to the student and training plan but the delivery of the training is purely their responsibility as you have booked the course through them direct and we are not liable for any bookings made through a third party.
